He was predeceased by : his parents, Willard Dudley and Nellie Gray Tompson (Vaughn); and his brothers, Willard Tompson (Ester) of British Columbia, Carroll Tompson (Marsha) of Winston Salem, NC and Clifford Tompson (Mary) of Columbia, MO..
He is survived by : his wife Vivian Tompson (Andrews); his children, Robert Tompson Jr. of Columbia, MO, Richard Tompson (Terri) of West Plains, MO, Karen Wolfe (David) of Auxvasse, MO and Ronald Tompson (Melody) of Moberly, MO; his grandchildren, Courtney Tompson of Columbia, MO, Travis Tompson of St. Louis, MO, Patrick Tompson of Moberly, MO, Alaina Tompson of West Plains, MO and Jeremy Tompson of Moberly, MO; and his great grandchildren, Kirsten Tompson, Andrew Tompson, Kendall Tompson-Hays and Brody Tompson-Hays.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Moberly Community College Foundation and the Randolph County Historical Society.
