He was predeceased by : his mother Lillian Thompson; his son John; and his siblings, Peewee, Thelma, Francis and Betty.

He is survived by : his father William Theodore Thompson, Sr.; and his children, Craig Thompson (Francis) of Bend, Robert Thompson (Dianna) of Cassville, Paul Thompson of San Diego, California, Teresa Thompson of Phoenix and Edith Thompson of Cassville, Missouri. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
