With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emma J. Ely of Monroe City, Missouri, who passed away on February 13, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Samuel Hinch and Lola E. Nixon; and her husband Albert Lee Ely. She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Ely (Craig Brown) of Monroe City, Reta Schachtsiek (Alan) of Palmyra, Jeanne Buckman (Scott) of Excelsior Springs and Vicky Holland (Robbie) of Monroe City; her sister Grace Askeland of Monroe City; her siblings-in-law, Gary Ely of Florida and Martha Ely of New London; and her grandchildren, Kelly Stroud (Calvin) of Hannibal, Amy Harris (Don) of North Carolina, Carrie Johnson (John) of Monroe City, Brad Whiston of Barry, Jeff Buckman (Jaime) of O'Fallon, Jared Buckman (Rachel) of Liberty, Curt Schachtsiek of Monroe City, Todd Schachtsick (Megan) of Carrollton and Nick Schachtsiek (Kati) of Petersburg. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
