He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Thorndyke and Nellie Mildred Thorndyke (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Joan Hesh; his daughters, Debbie Hauptman (John) of Bellingham and Wendy Perera; his grandchildren, Cameron Hauptman and Haven Hauptman; and his siblings, Merlin Thorndyke of Eureka, Illinois and Darlen Maxwell of Bloomington, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garner Funeral Home (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456). A masonic service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Garner Funeral Chapel (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Monroe City Nutrition Center or the Monroe City Christian Church.
