He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Johnson and Yvonne Watkins Johnson; his son Larry R. Johnson, Jr.; and his brothers, Woody Johnson and Fravell Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Chuma; his children, Michael Johnson (Naomi) of Warrenton, David Johnson (Kathy) of Cole Camp, Mark Johnson (Mimi) of Sedalia and Kathleen Friddle of Sedalia; his grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Tony Johnson, Derek Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Michael Johnson, Sam Johnson, Miranda Chenault and Hannah Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Sofia, Clorice, Aliyah, Juniper, Trent, Ian and Wilder.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel (300 S Moniteau Ave, Sedalia, MO 65301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (701 N Engineer Ave, Sedalia, MO 65301).
Memorials are suggested to the Benton County Hospice in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
