With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Janis Kay Roorda (Mound City, Missouri), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth M. Hayes and Evelyn B. Hayes (Losen); her parents-in-law, Dorothy, Norman Roorda, Althea and Steve Tobias; her siblings-in-law, Connie Bertram (Tobias), Janelle Hayes (Clausen) and Michael Bolinger; and her nephews, Nathan Bolinger and Matthew Bertram.
She is survived by: her husband Bruce Roorda; her children, Sarah Lynne Parsons (Bob) of Platte City, MO and Stephen Joseph Tobias of Portland; the father of her children Stephen Carl Tobias of Bedford, TX; her grandsons, Joshua David Stephens of St. Louis, MO and Jared Michael Parsons of Platte City, MO; her siblings, Lynne Bolinger of Winona Lake, IN, Kristine Amerson (Steve) of Ventura, CA and Kenneth (Kristin); and her aunt Joan Losen of Richmond, VA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mound City United Methodist Church (312 E 7th St, Mound City, MO 64470). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the United Methodist Church (312 E 7th St, Mound City, MO 64470).
