He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Edward Barnes and Ruth Geraldine Parker Barnes; his brother Jack Petty of Wichita, KS; and his brother-in-law Chuck Thomas of Clarinda, Iowa.. He is survived by: his wife Connie Barnes (Thomas); his sister Glenna Watton; his son Jamie Barnes (Alyssa) of Mound City, MO; and his grandchildren, Garrett Barnes, Ava Eaton (Prent) and Lilli Barnes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chamberlain Funeral Home (1705 Ridge Dr, Mound City, MO 64470). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Clarinda Cemetery (1200 N 16th St, Clarinda, IA 51632).
