We announce the death of Larry Alfred Borcherding of Mount Moriah, Missouri, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Borcherding and Ora Borcherding; his wife Serean Joyce Griesel of Mark's Lutheran Church; and his siblings, Harlan and Sandra Henry.
He is survived by: his son Doug Borcherding (Jane); his granddaughters, Rachel Serean Spicer (Grant), Audrey Jeanette Borcherding and Anna Christine Borcherding; his son Mark Borcherding (Jessica Kruse (Borcherding)); and his grandchildren, Drew Michael Borcherding, Clayton Kruse, Blake Kruse and Brooke Kruse.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (9100 Mission Rd, Leawood, KS 66206). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Brass Room - Prairie Fire Complex (5501 W 135th St, Overland Park, KS 66224).
