She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl D. Sumpter and Florence Marie Ward Sumpter; her husband Carl William Secrest; her son-in-law Ray Uttinger; her grandson Jeff Uttinger; and her siblings, Katherine Ruhl, Wilma Parks and Jim Sumpter.
She is survived by: her daughter Peggy Uttinger of Springfield; her granddaughters, Terri Manley of Mt. Vernon, Lisa Neubauer (Brent) of Olathe and Toni Felt (Rusty) of Ft. Scott, Kansas; her great grandchildren, Taylor Manley, Austin Manley (Hallee), Nathan Uttinger, Trenton Uttinger (Jacie), Jerod Felt (Tracie), Jordan Harding (Kory), Colton Manley and Grayson Manley; and her great great grandchildren, Brady, Tucker Felt, Karoline, Karrington Harding, Ryan Austin, Kinley Ballard, Mason, Adelyn Uttinger, Ava Manley, Larmee and Laken Manley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Cheney Witt Chapel (201 S Main St, Fort Scott, KS 66701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
