She was predeceased by: her grandmother Ina Claire Crandall. She is survived by: her parents, John Cowherd and Lynne Cowherd of Mt. Vernon; her siblings, Wilson (Brigette) of Columbia, Sam (Morgan) of Springfield, Sally Howard (Michael) of Columbia and Nina of Mt. Vernon; her grandmother Mary Cowherd of Purdy; and her stepgrandmother Darlene Crandall of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial contribution may be given to the Mount Vernon Community Foundation for a scholarship in Mary's name in care of the funeral home.
