It is with sadness that the passing of Retah L. Arthur (Mount Vernon, Missouri) is shared. Retah, born on June 8, 1933, passed away on August 18, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Retah L. Arthur to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Ritchie and Emma Ritchie (Oerly); her husband Boyd D. Arthur; and her brothers, Kenneth and George Ritchie (Buck).
She is survived by: her children, Sherry (Chuck Curtis) of Miller, Missouri and Randy (Yhulonda) of La Russell, Missouri; her grandchildren, Cassie Shockey (Zach) of Diamond, Chase Curtis (Jillian) of Sarcoxie, Stephanie Nixon (Johnathon) of Carthage and Travis Arthur of Miller; and her great grandchildren, Koy, Cale, Tate Shockey, Charli, Casey Curtis, Dalton and Natasha Nixon. She is also survived by two step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home (510 E Cherry St, Mt Vernon, MO 65712). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Red Oak Cemetery (2000 Lawrence 2032, La Russell, MO 64848).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Red Oak Cemetery or the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.
