He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Andrew and Clara Nancy Smith (Wake); and his sisters, Eunice (Pete Wheat), Velma (J. D. Williams), Vandon Easter and Jeneita (Ross Fish).
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Leiber; his daughters, Ellen Tate (Nolan) and Rhonda Rodgers (Dale); his grandchildren, Jannine Homer (John), Nathan Goad (April), Chris Rodgers (Natalie), Mindy Bell (Casey) and Rebecca Foster (Ty); his great grandchildren, Hannah VerPloeg (Jamison), Kelsey Hoots (Zach), Emily Goad, Gideon Foster, Eva Grace Foster, Wesson Foster, Abby Whittier, Drew Rodgers (Michaela), Landon Rodgers and Jace Rodgers; his great great grandchildren, William VerPloeg, Rosalie VerPloeg, Halynn Rodgers and Kaison Rodgers; and his siblings, Juanita Easter and Don Smith (Ann). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
