He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer "Bill" Austin and Lou Etta Austin (Grimes); his wife Eva Lea Bradley; his siblings, Betty Jean Rippee, Farris Austin, Mable Austin and Bert Austin; and his friend Lucy Harms.

He is survived by : his sons, Bruce Austin (Jeannette) of Lenexa and Jeff Austin of Bruner, Missouri; his grandchildren, Kyle Austin (Nickey), Lesley Smith (Shane) and Missy Newlin (Troy); his stepgrandsons, David Neal (Soomin), Clayton Neal (Ruth) and Tyler Booth (Brianna); his great grandchildren, Charlie, Silas, Jade, Paige and Zane; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Daphne, Lauren, Elijah and Jacob; and his great great grandchildren, Maxwell and Jeriah. He is also survived by other friends, family and neighbors.
