He is survived by: his wife Paula Gettis; his children, Shawna Luper of Neosho, MO, Danaille Hartson (Jeremiah) of Joplin, MO and Matthew Gettis (Janice) of Joplin, MO.; and his brothers, Bruce Whittey of Middlesex, NC and Jimmy Gettis of North Carolina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
