He was predeceased by : his parents, Jennie Hoyt (Osuna) and John Hoyt Sr.; his siblings, Mary Ryan, Virginia Wiman, Grace Hoyt, Eleanor Moore and John (Hoyt, Jr.); his niece Teresa Marquez; and his son-in-law Michael Hughes.

He is survived by : his wife Orvillene "Sis" Lanham; his daughters, Kristie Hughes and Elizabeth Cosper; his siblings, Ernestine Friend and Richard Hoyt of Neosho; his grandchildren, Morgan Holstine (David) of Charleston and David Hughes of Neosho; and his great grandchildren, John, Cali, Sawyer Snodgrass and Colt Holstine. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and family.
