He was predeceased by: his father William 'Harry" Harrison Shepherd. He is survived by: his mother Bonnie June Moon Shepherd; his wife Joanna Shepherd of Neosho, Missouri; his children, Robert (Joanna Shepherd) of Neosho, Keith (Carrie Shepherd) of Joplin, Verl Jr. (Caroline Shepherd) of Neosho, Missouri and Melissa (Saundra Shepherd) of Dewey, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Kenny Shepherd of Rogers, William Shepherd of Pea Ridge, Mike Shepherd of Lowell, Tim Shepherd of Centerton, Irene Kelley and Rita Shepherd. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
