It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eldon Smith of Nevada, Missouri, who passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eldon Smith to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry M. Smith and Cleo D. Smith (Shirley); and his sister Irma Sue Ashley. He is survived by: his spouse Karren Ruth Mitts; his daughters, Jami Hendren (Mark) and Melinda Headrick of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren, Britney Smith, Jace Headrick, Brynna Headrick, Brielle Headrick, Kate Black, Maddie Hendren, Sam Hendren, Abbey Calton and Emma Hendren; and his great grandchild Oliver Eldon Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of his love for animals and military to the Joplin Humane Society or the Wounded Warriors Project in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
