It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson Brooks of Nevada, Missouri, born in Hume, Missouri, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Buford Marshall and Emma Dell Brooks (Potter); his wife Ella Mae Brooks (Burrus); his brothers, Melvin Brooks, Tom Brooks and Bob Brooks; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Busbea (Burrus), Donna Burrus (Roby), Bill Blevins, Elvy Burrus, Sr. and Darrell Busbea; his nieces and nephews, Lisa Cargill (Burrus), Judy Moore (Burrus), Oran Everett Burrus and Travis Allen Burrus; and his stepgreat-grandson Maddox Franklin Foster-Bryant.

He is survived by : his children, Randy Brooks of Nevada and Ranea Couch (Phil) of Moundville; his grandchildren, Christopher Schulze (Jenny) of Willard, Kyle Schulze (Lauren) of Nevada, Bob Brooks of Perkiomenville, PA and Bryan Brooks of Jacksonville, FL; his stepgrandchildren, Samantha Schmitt, Tayrin Schmitt and Kodie Schmitt (Macey); his great grandchildren, Maelee Faye and Gracee Aleen Schulze of Willard; his stepgrandchildren, Emerson Ray, Iris River Schulze of Nevada and Kallen Nash Brooks of Perkiomenville, PA; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Heath Ray Hubbard, Taylee Mae Bryant and Connor Andrew Foster-Bryant; his sisters, Colleen Blevins of Butler and Diane Clark (Larry) of Hume; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Brooks of Carl Junction and Oran Burrus of Nevada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Neal Center, where Nelson loved going to play pool with friends or the Osage Masonic Lodge #303, where he was a long-time member, c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
