He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Altemeyer and Amelia Altemeyer (Pehle); his in-laws, William and Mathilde Ohse; his brother Bill Altemeyer; his sisters-in-law, Doris Altemeyer and Janet Altemeyer; his sister Barbara; his brother-in-law Don Guese; his grandson Eli Philip Altemeyer; and his great grandchild James K. Altemeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his son Kent; his grandson Luke Altemeyer of New Haven; his brother Kevin Altemeyer (Amy) of Germany; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Ohse (Rose), Barbara Gilbert (Jerald) and Janet Redhage (Bernard). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
