He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Gard and Ora Gard (Dossett); his daughter Jill; and his siblings, Leland, Phillip, David, Lowell and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his children, Jane Gard of Evansville, Indiana, Robert Blankenship of Sikeston and Chad Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren, David Blankenship and Emma Blankenship; and his sisters, Alta Gartner and Linda Jackson of Evansville.
