He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Clark Claflin and Electa Lee Kraus Claflin; and his brother Tom Charles Claflin. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kay Claflin; his children, Stacey Poe (Larry Poe), Cheryl Carter (Matthew Ridpath) and Bud Shelby (Connie Shelby); his grandchildren, Levi Richards, Chelsea Harper, Lakota Poe, Ashley Green (Jess Green), Clayton Cox (Alecia Cox), Ruger Cox (Kymeron Cox), Shelby Cox, Stephanie Gerhard (Paul Gerhard), Heather Edgar, Kaylee Williams (Austin Williams), Karissa Jordan, Tori Carter, Trace Carter, Kaci Dickerson (Deven Dickerson), Kenzy Shelby and Kiley Shelby; and his brother Harry Leroy Claflin (Mary Claflin). He is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
