He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Borkenhagen and Mildred Borkenhagen; and his brother-in-law Edwin Middlestead. He is survived by: his wife Diana Borkenhagen; his children, Tara Lean (Eldon) and Mark Borkenhagen; his grandchildren, Devon Lean (Jessica), Madison Lean, Koby Lean, Brett Borkenhagen, Hope Borkenhagen, Gage Borkenhagen and Dalton Haddock; his great grandchildren, Emersyn Mae Haddock and Collins Jae Haddock; his siblings, Linda Heebner (Jeff), Kay Middlestead, Diane Billman and Bob Borkenhagen; his stepchildren, Craig Brice (Amy), Rob Brice (Gayla) and TJ Brice (Bonnie); and his stepgrandchildren, Carson Brice, Anna Brice, Logan Brice (Olivia), Lauren Brice, Stanley Brice, Jayme Fox and Sydney Brice. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
