He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Ray Geren and Loretta Geren (Penny). He is survived by: his wife Iris K. Kemp; his son Jonathan Geren (Laura); his sister Connie S. Voigt; his granddaughter Kristina Geren; his stepchildren, Randy, Steve (Tammy) and Kathy (Tim); his great grandchildren, Peter and Andrea Rowley; Gerald and Iris.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nixa Church of the Nazarene's Youth Programs.
