It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Stewart of Nixa, Missouri, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy James leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Stewart and Mildred Stewart; and his brothers, Weldon and Kenneth Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Stewart; his stepdaughter Janelle Mabe (Jeff Mabe); his granddaughter Jessica Lilly (Braxton Lilly); his brother Gary Stewart (Moreen) of Connecticut; and his cousin Ida Nell Pearson (Joe) of Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Hill Church of Christ (865 N Nicholas Rd, Nixa, MO 65714). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (3506 N National Ave, Springfield, MO 65803).
