He was predeceased by: his mother Billie Jo Mitchem; his stepfather Richard "Doc" Mitchem; his uncles, Charles "Dean" Crewse and Delbert Crewse; and his nephew Eric Thurston.
He is survived by: his brother Frank Thurston; and his sons, Kyle Thurston and Kent Thurston. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home (315 N Main St, Mountain Grove, MO 65711). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
