He was predeceased by: his parents, James Baxter and Lois Baxter (Bauer); his brothers, Jerry Baxter, Raymond Baxter and Randy Baxter; and his siblings-in-law, Vivian Baxter and Mark Chrisinger.
He is survived by: his wife Namora Schaefer; his stepdaughter Sonja Ruhland (Mike); his grandsons, Josiah Ruhland (Billie) and Max Ruhland; and his siblings, Jimmie Baxter (Donna), Joe Baxter, Dianne Sutter (Chuck), Judy Bozarth (Denny), Greg Baxter, Lynda Crawford (Ron), Sherry Nelson and Brian Baxter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Aspen Grove Cemetery (2043 Sunnyside Ave, Burlington, IA 52601).
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant where the family will be present that evening from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in his memory.
