He was predeceased by : his mother Joan Trotter (Hosiner); and his brother Brian Trotter. He is survived by : his father William E. Trotter; his sisters, Regina Winton (Bob Winton) and Tracy Morton (Gene Morton); his children, Jennifer Trotter and Jeffrey Trotter; his daughter-in-law Tiffany Trotter; and his grandsons, Callaway, Landon and Noah Trotter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Mike's memory to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri OR the Springfield Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind (checks can be sent to 533 S Dexter Ave, Springfield, MO, 65802).
