He was predeceased by: his parents, Maudie Ester Higginbotham (Williams) and Walter Higginbotham; his siblings, Judy Masters, Jackie Higginbotham and Leonard Higginbotham; and his son-in-law Mark Macaulay.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Higginbotham of Norborne; his brother Richard Higginbotham of Gardner; and his daughters, Terri Macaulay of Norborne, Karen Milligan (Keith) of Norborne and Bobbie Jo Meier (Eric) of Tonganoxie. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
