He was predeceased by: his parents, William Leslie and Sarah Alice Frances O'Brien (Aton); his children, Russell Irl O'Brien and Jeanette Lee Thomas (O'Brien); and his siblings, Oren Leslie O'Brien, Richard Wayne O'Brien, Charles Franklin O'Brien and Virginia Rose Litle.
He is survived by: his family Alan; his wife Phyllis O'Brien (Hughes); his son Darrel O'Brien of Odessa, MO; his grandsons, Joseph O'Brien, Christopher O'Brien, Seth Thomas and Dustin Thomas; and his sister Mary Alice Jenkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephew, relative, and friends.
