It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Lucille Hapes of Odessa, Missouri, born in Lawrence, Kansas, who passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, George Marian and Georgia "Wilma" Rockhold (Needles); her husband Harold Lowell Hapes; her siblings, Betty Lawrenz, Margaret Gurley, Walter "Buck" Rockhold, Glenn Rockhold and George Lavern "Bernie" Rockhold; and her daughter-in-law Tracy D. Hapes.

She is survived by : her friend Helen; her children, Michael Lee Hapes of Hale, MO and Susan Lynne Doberenz (Paul) of Florence, OR; her stepgrandchild Jamie Nicole Roth of Clinton, MO; her stepgreat-grandson Bentley Stephen Stewart; and her brothers, Jesse "Leonard" Rockhold (Alice) and Robert "Bob" Rockhold (Sharon). She is also survived by many nieces nephews, relatives, and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Rolling Meadows Christian Church.
