He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Guy and Edna Leona VanMeter (Claunch); his brother Robert "Bob" VanMeter; and his brothers-in-law, Granville Morgan and Royce Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn VanMeter of Odessa, MO; his daughters, Linda Varner (Stephen) of Odessa, MO and Susie Campbell (Kevin) of Odessa, MO; his grandchildren, Darrell LeBeau (Mia) of Odessa, MO, Kyle Campbell (Taylor) of Odessa, MO, Ryan Campbell (Hannah Keller) of Nixa, MO and Danielle Flory (Caleb) of Baldwin City, KS; his great grandchildren, Hadley, Tate, Ellis LeBeau, Kolson and Pryor Flory; his siblings, Donna Morgan of Independence, MO, Doris Cox (Wes) of Richmond, MO, Kay Robbins (Paul) of Odessa, MO and Lee Edward VanMeter (Sally) of Connecticut; and his sister-in-law Kathryn VanMeter of Odessa, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home (306 S 2nd St, Odessa, MO 64076). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (100 Hwy OO, Odessa, MO 64076). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Odessa Cemetery (201 Main St, Odessa, MO 64076).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Odessa.
