He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bates and Edna Bates; his son Robert Mark Bates; and his siblings, Ted Bates, John Bates and Shirley Douglas.
He is survived by: his wife Eunice Bates; his daughter Cheryl Fiorini (Mike); his grandchildren, Shelly Brownlee (Brett), Jeff Schulze (Laci) and Zachary Bates; his great grandchildren, Kendree and Tessa; and his friends, Ellen, Earl Hanley, Dave and Sue Stump.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Baue Funeral Home - Cave Springs (3950 W Clay St, St Charles, MO 63301). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens (3950 W Clay St, St Charles, MO 63301).
