He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Brakensiek; his children, Douglas Scherer (Susan) of O'Fallon, Diane Semrow (Keith) of Foristell and Laura Quick (Mark) of O'Fallon; and his brother-in-law Thomas Brakensiek of St. Charles.
