He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hewitt and Annawood Hume Jenkins; and his sister Anna Beverly Jenkins Knapp. He is survived by: his close friend Chloe Allen; his wife Patricia Balsamo; his stepchildren, Melissa Balsamo, Cara Balsamo and Joey Balsamo; his daughters, Julianne Jenkins (John Arendt) of Stamford and Jana Jenkins Brinson Roberts (Evan Roberts); his grandsons, Chance Brinson of Fort Myers, Florida, Dylan Brinson of Fort Myers, Florida and Garrett Brinson of Fort Myers, Florida; the mother of his child Joanne Jenkins of Fort Myers, Florida; and his brothers, Gerald Jenkins of Jacksonville and Robert L. Jenkins of Florence. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
