He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Lee Buckner and Mary Keeney; his stepmother Alma Buckner; and his brothers, Ron and Clifford Buckner.

He is survived by: his wife Cheri Buckner of O'Fallon; his children, Jeff Buckner (Debbie) of Florida, Dennis Buckner of California and Patty Rathman of Florida; his stepsons, Chris McAlister of O'Fallon and Jeff Burris (Diann) of Kirkwood, MO; and his sister Kathy Marler of St. Charles, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elsberry City Cemetery (1100 Hwy B, Berger, MO 63014).

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
