She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Benz and Clara Benz (Goethe); her husband Francis; her children, Steven Wagner and Susan Greenwood; and her grandchildren, Brendon, Alan Wagner, Jonathan, Paul Thompson and Grace Thompson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Dorothy Wagner (Benz), Arthur Jr., Edward, Glennon Benz and Jane Eise (Benz); her children, David Wagner and Patty Thompson (Everett); her children-in-law, Rick Greenwood, Jody Wagner and Janet Wagner; her grandchildren, Michael Wagner (Gen), Laurel Mason (Joseph), Nick Wagner, Nancy Enriquez (Allan), Christy DeLaPorte (Steve), Ben Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Mary Roberts (Joel), Joshua Thompson, Joseph Thompson (Zali), Ericca Thornhill (Travis), Cathy Noble (Tom), Bridget Beacom (Chris), Emma Kuntz (Quentin) and Stephanie Sellars (Tommy); Legos. She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Abbey Senior Health Chapel (206 N Main St, O'Fallon, MO 63366).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Abbey Senior Health Activity Department, which provided Mary with many hours of pleasure.
