He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman VandeVen and Louise VandeVen; and his siblings, Ralph VandeVen and Arlo Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Nancy VandeVen; his children, Terry Bava (Gerard), Mike VandeVen (Kay), David VandeVen (Julie), Sheryl Groeblinghoff (Tony) and Michelle Meyer (Doug); and his grandchildren, Jessie Bava, Jake Bava (Tammara), Nikki Plassmeyer (Kyle), Chris VandeVen (Lexi), Nathan VandeVen (Audrey), Jack VandeVen (Kylie Minardi), Ethan VandeVen, Will VandeVen, Isaac Groeblinghoff, Claire Meyer, Grace Meyer and Maggie Meyer.
Memorials may be made in Mike's name to Masses at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
