He was predeceased by: his wife Louise; his parents, Elroy Harry and Anne Proost; and his daughter Susan Ann Proost. He is survived by: his child Jean Dyer (Bill); his grandchildren, Jessica Louise Westhoff (TJ), Robert William Dyer, Matthew Ryan Dyer and Jenna Marie Dyer; and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Henry and Kennedy.
