He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Ardell Dawson; his great grandchild Oliver Hopson; his son-in-law Bobby Miller; his sister Sharon Wilkie; and his brother-in-law John Chappell.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Miller, Theresa Hopson (David), Mark Dawson (Connie) and Bryan Dawson (Angela); and his sister Joyce Chappell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (8945 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, O'Fallon, MO 63366). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
