She is survived by: her children, Michael Thornton (Mary Rose), Wendy McIntyre (Mike), Matthew Thornton (Maria) and Kelly Thornton (Karen); and her grandchildren, Melissa Thornton, Trevor Thornton, Michael McIntyre, William McIntyre, Maria Thornton, Matthew Thornton, Ella Thornton and Shane Thornton.
Memorials may be made in Winifred's name to Lutheran High School North.
