He is survived by: his son Louis Elliot Mitauer; his stepson Dominic Bommarito of St. Louis; his sisters, Andrea Mitauer of Sherman Oaks, CA and Sherri Mankovsky (Jerald) of Austin, TX; his nephew Joshua Mankovsky (Kirby); and his aunt Hannah Finer Tenenbaum.
