Hortense Joy Growe Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hortense Joy Growe (Olivette, Missouri), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 3, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Jack Smith; her husband Leonard Growe; and her sister Charlotte Spielberg (Leonard). She is survived by: her mother Dorothy Smith; her children, Judy Growe and Gary Growe (Bethe); her grandchildren, Jennifer Soshnik (Daniel), Jason Growe (Rebecca) and Jeremy Growe (Samantha); and her great grandchildren, Jordan, Emmy Soshnik, Sasha, Lana Growe, Jonah and Joanna Growe.

An accomplished bridge player, Hortense was a fixture at the St. Louis Bridge Center until the COVID-19 pandemic.
