He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley and Murray Leirson; his son Gary Shayne; his stepson Robert Grossman; and his great grandchild Jesse Shayne.
He is survived by: his son Philip Shayne (Janice Calcaterra); his daughters-in-law, Margo Sipes and Susan Sandstrom; his stepdaughter Shari; his grandchildren, Alison Tsacoumangos (Adam), Andrew Shayne (Rachel), Aaron Shayne (Sara Peterson), Ben Shayne (Stephanie Rawlings), Devon Shayne, Rocio Rodriguez, Emily Shayne, Andy Grossman (Melanie) and Jeffrey Grossman; his great grandchildren, Johnny, Harry, Franky Tsacoumangos, Maxine and Fiona Shayne; and his caregivers, Marsha, Amy, Monica, Alice and Molly.
