He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Wylie Curtis and Newell Mary Michelson Curtis; his wife Mary Ann Margrabe; his children, Ronald Wylie Curtis and Darlene Cathey; his siblings, Boyd Ray Curtis and Juanita Smith; and his grandsons, Samuel Cathey and Dustin Curtis.
He is survived by: his children, David Curtis of Sikeston, James Curtis of Oran, Benita Lewis of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Curtis of Scott City; his grandchildren, Stacey Hicks, Joshua Curtis, Michael Cathey and Elizabeth Cathey; and his sisters, Cleda Curtis of Oran and Freda DeWalsche of Port Byron, Illinois. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
