He was predeceased by: his parents, Elba Elmer and Dollie Anna Hershberger (Landis); his aunt Alma Mast; his nephew Vince Remshak; and his brother-in-law Lee Lightcap.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dewhirst; his children, Chris Hershberger (Amy) of Parkville, MO, Wendy Coldwell (Chad) of Richmond, MO and Russell Hershberger of Polo, MO; his stepdaughter Nicole Goodrick of Texarkana, TX; his stepgrandchildren, Spencer Chillis, Olivia Hershberger, Kaelyn Coldwell, Clayton Coldwell (Emily), Colton Coldwell, Celee Hershberger, Derrec Ross, Ricky Ross, Makayla Boyd (Kaine), Dominic Ross, Dallas Ross and Sierra Ross; and his siblings, Eldon Hershberger of Kansas City, MO, Myron Hershberger (Brenda) of Canon City, CO, Sherwin Hershberger (Dawn) of Harrisonville, MO and Marcia Lightcap of Harrisonville, MO. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
