He is survived by: his wife Patricia Shanks (Patti); his son Donald Alan Shanks (Holly); his sister-in-law Suzanne Larson; his grandchildren, Katie Holt and Tom Shanks; and his cousins, Claudette Doctor (Alan) and Bruce Doctor (Deb). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
