It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nelson MacKey (Ozark, Missouri), who passed away on January 9, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Durward and Ruby Mackey (Sturman); his brothers, James Arthur, Ray Harlin, Franklin and Sturman Mackey; his brother-in-law Leroy Morisset; and his nephew Gregory Allan Mackey.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Elaine Trost; his son Bradley Nelson Mackey; his sisters, Judith Ann Morisset of Ozark and Ruby Jane (Larry Burton) of Ozark; his sisters-in-law, Judy Mackey of Prairie Grove, AR and Louise Mackey of Independence, MO.; and also, Tyler (Monica), Ryan, Brandon, Faith (Cami Webb), Barry Durward Mackey (Emma), Gavin, Buffy Elaine Spencer (Bethany) and Eden (Caleb). He is also survived by children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family/friends.

Memorial donations may be made to College of the Ozarks Alumni Association or First Baptist Church Ozark, MO Missions Fund.

“Nelson and I entered the School of the Ozarks as freshmen together in the fall of 1955. We have been good friends for 65 years. He has been the glue that held our class together, keeping all of us advised as to what the others were doing. He will be greatly missed.
