He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bright and Katherine Bright. He is survived by: his wife Jean Roiss; his son Christopher Bright; his niece Sara Ruffin; and his nephews, Tony Ruffin, Matt Mygatt and Tony Mygatt.
His formative years were spent in Taos, New Mexico, where he received formal art training at the University of New Mexico on a Ford Foundation scholarship.
