He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sherman Hathaway and Clara Ramage Hathaway; his wife Doris I. Smith Hathaway; his brothers-in-law, Bill Drebes, Alfred Brocaille, Billy Eagan and Roger Holden; and his sisters, Elsie Eagan, Annie Brocaille and Ruth Hathaway.
He is survived by: his children, Carlene Christy (Danny) of Palmyra, MO and Marvin Hathaway (Wuanita) of Monroe City, MO; his siblings, Harold Hathaway (Ingrid) of Palmyra, MO and Mary Drebes of Monroe City, MO; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Holden of St. Louis, MO; and his grandchildren, Jessica Robinson (Keith), Jason Christy (Teresa), Jenny Christy, Adair Hathaway (Keri) and Heather Utterback (Andy). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
