With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edmund B. Olson of Palmyra, Missouri, who passed away on August 15, 2025 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Olson and Elsie Bittle Olson; his former wife Mary Patricia "Pat" Bea; his children, Sharon Lee Olson and Byron "Barney" L. Olson; his sisters, Marjorie Olson, Geraldine Rees and Vivian Sparks; his daughter-in-law Rosemary Olson; his grandson Justin Lyn Olson; and his grandson-in-law Robert Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Johnson Sparrow; his children, Karen "Sue" Storck (Larry) of Palmyra, MO, Terry Olson (Bonnie) of Benbow, MO, Edmund "Eddie" Olson III (Paula) of Palmyra, MO, Becky Kroeger (Jeff) of Palmyra, MO, Kathy Perry (Danny) of Palmyra, MO and David Sparrow (Becky) of Monroe City, MO; his daughter-in-law Lynn Olson Erickson of Cambridge, WI; and his grandsons, Travis Olson, Brandon Olson, Jeremy Olson, Gregory Storck, Matthew Kroeger, Ryan Kroeger, Blayne White, Anthony Miller and Jacob Hommen. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
